A bowl of hot por­ridge made with a cup of home-brewed cof­fee (that’s cof­fee to put in the por­ridge, rather than drink), toasted wal­nuts and a driz­zle of syrup is tasty fuel to kick­start those mid­win­ter morn­ings when get­ting out from un­der your du­vet is al­most un­bear­able.
