SUNSHINE- FILLED WEEKDAYS BECKON WORKERS TO FINISH EARLY AND HEAD OUTDOORS. TIME FOR A TEAM PICNIC IN THE PARK

The Simple Things - - GATHERING - Photography, recipes and styling: CATHERINE FRAWLEY

The urge to play truant is at its strongest in high summer, when the sun is shining and the air balmy long into the evening. But instead of bunking off, how about persuading your boss of the merits of an early finish? Planning skills, teamwork and relationship building can all be finessed with a picnic, coolbox of beers and a game or two of softball. This picnic combines make-at-home baking to bring along in Tupperware, and a build-your-own bruschetta bar with bought and homemade toppings, savoury and sweet. Pack a rug or two, throw in mellow afternoon sunshine and let the games begin.
