Zen­ways (zen­ways.org) Lon­don-based Zen train­ing cen­tre that also runs re­treats all around the UK. Their key re­treat is the three-day in­ten­sive, ex­plor­ing the ques­tion, ‘ Who am I?’. Hard work, but in­spir­ing. The Sharpham Trust (sharphamtrust.org) A range of Devon-based re­treats, from start­ing a mindfulness prac­tice to ex­plor­ing par­tic­u­lar ar­eas of mindfulness, such as mind­ful cook­ery or singing.

Plum Vil­lage ( plumvil­lage.org) At Thich Nhat Hanh’s prac­tice cen­tre in south-west France: re­treats in mind­ful com­mu­nal liv­ing. Re­turn to Si­lence (re­turn­tosi­lence.co.uk) Sim­ple, gen­tle re­treats in Buck­ing­hamshire, cov­er­ing si­lence, re­flec­tion, rest and mind­ful ac­tiv­i­ties (med­i­ta­tion, yoga, qigong, walk­ing).
