In Made of Wood Mark and Sally Bailey explore timber in all its forms

The Simple Things - - FRESH -

Mark and Sally Bailey’s aesthetic is all about unfussy beauty, a look that is beautifully showcased in Made of Wood. There are enviable timber buildings – from woodland cabins, their boards silvered with weather and age, to the striking Wind House, its curved structure facing into gales like the prow of a Viking ship. There are lovely photos of ‘nourishing’ log piles, and wooden kitchen cabinets where the grain is used to decorative effect. Even quotidien items like an old shoe last perched on a shelf, a gnarled branch transformed into a coat hook and an old bread board marked and scarred by age have their own unique beauty. Inspiring.
