It’s easy to get the hang of making this simple shelf

The Simple Things - - NEST -

This is a simple project with obvious shelf appeal, requiring no fancy equipment, and certainly no specialist skills. You will need: Round wooden plate Scissors Thin rope Staple

1 Cut your rope into two pieces of about 1.5 metres each. The length will depend on how low you want your shelf to hang, so experiment.

2 Alternatively, you could try braiding together lengths of yarn to act as your rope. 3 Tie all the ends in a secure knot. 4 Arrange your rope into a cross shape with the centre sitting at the centre of your wooden plate.

5 Check you’re happy with length, before stapling rope onto the plate

6 Leaving a loop for hanging, tie together the rope at the top.

7 Ta-dah! Start having fun arranging things on your new shelf.
