ANGLING

-

THE Stragglefish is another great fry basher that represents darker-coloured fry like wee brownies or perch and is tied on a size 8-10 Kamasan B175 hook using black thread.

The body is black and gold Straggle and the wing is rabbit strip. The hackle is grizzle hen dyed ginger and it is finished with a pair of jungle cock cheeks.

THE Lawfield Trout Fishery, near Kilmacolm, has been providing some excellent sport in the blustery conditions with those using the CD, Olive Buzzers, Diawl Bach, Hoppers, Sedges and the Black Rabbit doing best.

There have been some impressive catch-and-release returns with Joe Currie from Paisley having 24 – best 9lb.

Paul Torrish (Barrhead) had 14, Alan Ferris (Houston) nine and Malky Muir, from Kilbarchan, took 13.

Mr Brock caught 3 for 7lb and Mr McNeish bagged a brace weighing 5lb 4oz.
