THE Scottish Cup Final will be an all-west affair after both BONNYRIGG ROSE and LINLITHGOW ROSE failed to go through in their respective semi-finals.

A second half Young goal was good enough to give AUCHINLECK TALBOT a 1-0 aggregate win over LINLITHGOW. Bonnyrigg couldn’t overturn last week’s 1-0 defeat from GLENAFTON in a goalless second leg tie.

In the East Super League, BO’NESS returned to form with an easy 5-1 win over MUSSELBURGH. Robert Sloan gave the BU’s the lead and Matty Wright from a penalty made it two. Fraser Keast added a third before Matti King replied for the visitors but Ruaridh MacLennan and an own goal completed a comfortable win for the hosts.

Ten-man LOCHEE UNITED held out to take the points from BROXBURN. The Blubells had keeper Mark Fotheringham sent off after 20 minutes but netted a second-half winner when Greg Kirk was fouled in the box . Although Bryan Deasley’s spot-kick was saved, he followed up to net the rebound.

NEWTONGRANGE STAR are still battling to avoid the drop after a 4-1 victory over CARNOUSTIE PANMURE. A Jack Wilson penalty gave the home side the lead, then the Gowfers responded with an equaliser. Star edged ahead again though Scott Lander, and a double from Sean Lally secured the points.

A late Robbie Feeney goal earned BATHGATE the points over FORFAR WEST END in the Premier League. An own goal gave Bathgate the lead, then Graeme Hart levelled, only to be denied by Feeney’s late winner. At the same time, this result ensured KENNOWAY would be promoted to the Super League next season.

KELTY are through to the next round of the East of Scotland Cup, with the Fifers easing to a 3-0 win over SAUCHIE. Kelty always had the edge over Sauchie and took the lead through an own goal then a double from Stephen Husband saw them safely through.

JEANFIELD also progressed but had to endure a dramatic penalty shoot-out before knocking out PENICUIK. Their tie had ended in a 2-2 draw but the Perth side went on to win 7-6 on penalties.

In the GA Engineering Cup, TAYPORT always looked in control against KIRRIE THISTLE and took the lead through Jamie Mackie. Alan Tulleth added another two and, although Kirrie pulled one back, the result was never in doubt.

BROUGHTY ATHLETIC will meet Port in the final but it was much tighter against VIOLET at Glenesk. All the goal action came in the second half. Stewart McConnachie gave The Fed the lead, then Danny Cavanagh doubled their advantage. Violet made them sweat when Ben Middleton pulled one back but they couldn’t force an equaliser.

In the West, McBookie. com Super Premier Division leaders ROB ROY earned a 3-1 win over visitors TROON in a game where Kirkintilloch men were awarded three penalties. Scott Chatham had fired Troon in front but the Rabs levelled when Kevin Watt tucked in a rebound after Kevin Green had missed from the spot. Watt netted with penalties in the second half, with the visitors having Martin Ure dismissed.
