Girl in road tragedy

AN 11-year-old girl has died after being struck by an off-road vehicle in Shrewsbury.

Paramedics were called to Mytton Oak Road at 4.18pm on Thursday and the girl was taken to hospital.

A 77-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of alcohol, and has been released under investigation.
