Landscape to be used in theatre
SCOTLAND’S stunning landscape is set to form the backdrop to open-air productions by the national theatre.
Jackie Wylie, the new artistic director of the National Theatre of Scotland, said she had an “inherent soulful love of landscape” and wanted to find a way to use it in productions.
She said: “We have an inspirational landscape within Scotland, it’s one of our defining features.
“You can go to places in Scotland, for example, and you can feel as if you are in a lunar landscape, and that is an exciting possibility.”
Ms Wylie also said she was “personally passionate” about attracting young people to the theatre by embracing the digital age.
