A slippery slope

Female hero

The Sunday Post (Dundee) - - OPINION -

Your report suggests that Annie Campbell Reid is the only woman named on a Scottish war memorial. Please note that Sister Violet Fraser, who died in Serbia in 1919, is named on the Dunbar War Memorial. Commuters in West Lothian could be heading out to work on ungritted pavements this winter as the council looks at slashing over £5m from budgets.

Council crews currently grit pavements from 5am, but counillors have been told that £100,000 could be saved by not starting gritting until 8am.

Around 80 jobs could also disappear from road crews.
