Grantchester

-

Don’t be fooled by the setting and the time period – devious deeds are, as ever, afoot.

“If you described Grantchester to someone and they hadn’t seen it, they might assume it simply has that cosy, nostalgic, crime story feel,” says James Norton, who stars as Sidney Chambers. “But it has so many more layers and is so much richer, deeper and darker.”

When we catch up with him, Sidney is a man torn – between his faith and his love for his best friend Amanda.

Alongside Geordie (Robson Green), he investigates the death of an elderly man who appears to have drowned – but why was his corpse found in the decidedly un-aquatic Round Church in Cambridge?

As usual, the series is filled with wonderful guest performers, including Peter Davison in episode two, as village cricket captain.
