Cops try to shed light on thieves
A lamppost has been cut down and stolen from a footpath in England, police say.
The suspects used a hacksaw to cut down the lamppost on a path in Hertfordshire yesterday morning.
Police officers want to speak to a man who flagged down a police car near the incident while he was out walking his dog.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and theft.
Earlier this year, cops in the Netherlands pulled over a man who had two stolen lamp-posts strapped to the top of his car.
And in 2012 a gang of thieves stole a 10 tonne bridge in the Czech Republic after pretending they had been hired to demolish it.
