Keep calm and carry on

-

DESPITE the inane drivel spouted by the usual rabble-rousers, I can assure you it’s business as usual in London.

People might be feeling unsettled, and obviously have deep sympathy for the friends and families of those who died or were injured in Wednesday’s attack in Westminster.

But it will take more than one terrorist to cause this fine city to grind to a halt.

Everything was more or less back to normal by Thursday, apart from the floral tributes and flags flying at half mast.

Westminster Bridge was full of Londoners on their way to and from work.

I live around the corner from where the attack happened and, although there was obviously a lot of police activity in the aftermath, there was also an admirable calmness from Londoners and tourists and a determination to get on with life as normal.

That’s the only way to deal with terrorists who want to destroy your peace of mind and your way of life.
