Jaime fears on landing Babs role
ACTRESS Jaime Winstone says she was petrified at playing Carry On icon Barbara Windsor in a biopic – fearing she would have to expose her breasts.
Jaime, who will play a young Babs in a forthcoming BBC show, said she scoured the script for any hint of nudity before accepting the part.
A famous scene in the 1969 comedy Carry On Camping sees Barbara’s bra fly off while she is exercising.
But the scene doesn’t feature in the new drama.
Jaime, the daughter of British film hardman Ray Winstone, said: “We didn’t do that, thank God.
“I was skipping through the script thinking, ‘Right, when are my boobs coming out?’”
