SCOTLAND returned from a tour of South America and manager Ally MacLeod announced that Brazil were keen to face his side at Hampden the following year.

The samba stars had beaten the Scots 2-0 in a midweek international.

MacLeod also proclaimed that Alan Rough (above) had proved himself to be one of the best keepers in the world.

Don Revie’s future as England manager was not discussed at the FA International Committee meeting, despite the boss flying in to attend.

He was only asked to say a few words about England’s tour of South America.
