Two in­jured in Arthur’s Seat fall

A MAN suf­fered se­vere head in­juries af­ter plung­ing 40ft down Arthur’s Seat in Ed­in­burgh.

Am­bu­lance, fire crews and a res­cue he­li­copter were called to the scene at around 5am yes­ter­day.

Emer­gency ser­vices from Lib­er­ton and Toll­cross used line res­cue equip­ment to move the in­jured man to safety.

The ca­su­alty was air­lifted from the scene fol­low­ing the fall and is be­ing treated at Ed­in­burgh Royal In­fir­mary.

A sec­ond man with shoul­der in­juries was taken to the same hos­pi­tal by am­bu­lance. Sev­eral am­bu­lances and fire en­gines could be seen while the he­li­copter came in to land at Holy­rood Park.

The 822ft land­mark is pop­u­lar with tourists.
