Free bus travel call
Anas Sarwar has pledged to extend free bus travel to all 16 to 18-year-olds and carers if he is elected Scottish Labour leader.
The move, which he claims would cost around £12 million a year, comes as the Scottish Government’s consultation on the future of the free bus pass enters its final few days.
SNP minsters are planning to raise the minimum eligibility age for a free bus pass to save cash.
Mr Sarwar said: “I firmly oppose any changes to the eligibility criteria.”
