No Doors Open Day at naturist retreat
A plan to open Scotland’s only naturist colony to the public as part of the Doors Open Day has been called off. In June, the Sunday Post told how for the first time visitors would be welcomed by naturist islanders at Loch Lomond. The Scottish Outdoor Club, based on the loch’s Inchmurrin Island is celebrating its 80th anniversary and offered curious members of the public an opportunity to look around the site. But the weekend event – due to be held later this month – has been abandoned because the club couldn’t offer free boat rides there. Club member Teena Gould said the organisation had been delighted to be included in the event but “couldn’t fulfil” its transport obligations.
