As­sas­si­na­tion at­tempts in Mid­dle Eng­land, alleged hit­men claim­ing they were in the UK to see a cathe­dral, and al­le­ga­tions that Michael Foot was in the pay of the former Soviet Union.

Yes, the UK and Rus­sia have quite a re­la­tion­ship. In fact it’s more fan­ci­ful than the plot of any John le Carre novel.

Our in­ter­view with ex­iled busi­ness­man Alexan­der Shapo­valov adds to con­cerns over how this re­la­tion­ship will play out in the fu­ture.

It is time we all take the threat from Rus­sia se­ri­ously. This week’s press con­fer­ence was met with much hi­lar­ity on so­cial me­dia.

This only helped Putin de­flect from the al­le­ga­tions that his agents left one per­son dead and three oth­ers gravely ill in Sal­is­bury with lit­tle prospect of any­one be­ing brought to jus­tice.
