Scots firms cash in on English fracking

The Sunday Post (Newcastle) - - NEWS -

Scottish firms are cashing in on the lucrative fracking boom in England, we can reveal. With the controversial gas extraction method banned north of the border, a string of Scots hauliers are taking on work to service drilling sites across England. Campaign group Frack Off says six Scots firms have been seen servicing drilling sites across England. The Scottish Government announced what it described as an “effective ban” on fracking last year. By contrast, the UK Government has been an avid supporter of fracking despite local opposition. Geoff Campbell, of the Scottish Road Haulage group, said: “I don’t see why hauliers shouldn’t be going for this work, if they don’t do it then someone else will.”
