99 for Bob

The Sunday Post (Newcastle) - - NEWS -

A grandson will run 99 miles in honour of his grandfather, a D-Day veteran, who passed away last year. Bob Foulds was awarded the Legion of Honour by the French Government for his efforts during the War. Bob passed away aged 98, and now his grandson Douglas Allison, from Paisley, is running 99 miles in his memory throughout September. Douglas, who runs his first-ever marathon in Lancaster today, said: “My grandfather would have been 99 on the 9th day of the 9th month and I wanted to celebrate his life, and raise money for Erskine Care Home, where he spent his last days, happy and made to feel like a hero.” uk.virginmoneygiving.com/DouglasAllison
