A Sept 23 ar­ti­cle based on in­ac­cu­rate in­for­ma­tion pub­lished by Hornby PLC said that in 2017/18 Stephen Cooke, Hornby’s for­mer CEO, en­joyed a 29pc salary in­crease for half a year’s work, re­ceiv­ing a £156,000 exit fee plus £365,000 salary.

As Hornby’s re­vised fig­ures show, Mr Cooke in fact re­ceived £233,152 com­pen­sa­tion for loss of of­fice and £153,000 in salary, fees and al­lowances. The salary por­tion of the lat­ter fig­ure was ap­prox­i­mately half his pre­vi­ous year’s earn­ings.
