Tuna and salmon brand John West’s prof­its slumped by two thirds to £1.6m in 2017 as the weak pound hiked the cost of im­ported fish. The Liver­pool­based busi­ness, which is owned by Bangkok­listed Thai Union Group and em­ploys 80 staff, saw sales hold steady at £221m de­spite a rise in EU ex­ports.
