The triumvirate of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane is arguably the most potent in world football. They account for – it seems – almost all of Liverpool’s goals except they are not quite firing to the same degree this season. Although with Daniel Sturridge (above) fit again Liverpool do finally have another option.

Manchester City

Goals come from everywhere for City but, still, their main threat remains Sergio Aguero (below). It had looked like the striker’s opportunities might be limited when Gabriel Jesus was signed but undoubtedly Aguero is the main centreforward and goal scorer having won round Guardiola by upping his work-rate. Raheem Sterling is again proving his worth in front of goal while Leroy Sane is beginning to reestablish himself.
