Maidstone minnows pile more misery on ailing Macclesfield
Vanarama National League side Maidstone beat League Two strugglers Macclesfield 2-1 to knock them out of the Cup in the first round.
Ben Stephens had put Macclesfield in front in the 15th minute, but the home side hit back early in the second half through Jack Powell’s free-kick at the Gallagher Stadium. Blair Turgott won the tie from the penalty spot with 20 minutes left.
2-0, with goals in each half from Dean Winnard and Jason Gilchrist.
Kabongo Tshimanga scored a hat-trick as National League South side battled to a 3-3 draw at League Two promotion chasers
Prenton Park. Rovers took the lead in the 34th minute through Connor Jennings, but Tshimanga equalised five minutes later and grabbed his second on 66 minutes before Jennings made it 2-2. Tshimanga tapped in with eight minutes left, but James Norwood levelled late on.
National League team drew 1-1 at home against League One bottom club who equalised on 70 minutes through midfielder Nathaniel Knight-Percival.
A stoppage-time effort from Bruno Andrade gave a 3-2 win over League One’s came from behind to beat 3-1 on the National League side’s artificial pitch.
