A lesson in loungewear

The Sunday Telegraph - Stella - - SHE WEARS IT WELL -

Molly Goddard, 25

The Australian co-founder of the pyjama brand Desmond & Dempsey wears hers all night – and all day.

1 If I have meetings with wholesalers, I’ll wear something from Desmond & Dempsey – in the summer, the trousers with a camisole and a blazer – to show them the fit and the shape. But generally I don’t tend to wear my pyjamas for work, and the pieces I do wear, I wash a little more gently and never sleep in them.

2 I usually put on a pair of big earrings because I don’t tend to wear much make-up. Zoe Morton does really cool styles, as does the Australian brand Tilly Jewellery. I like supporting other young independent labels.

3 I wear a lot of white and you’ll never see me in black. My aesthetic is quite Australian. I incorporate patterns and colour by making little neckties out of leftover sample fabric.

4 I’ve got a wedding practically every weekend at the moment, and I find that Aussie brands, like Zimmermann, always have great dresses for them.

5 I once saw a girl wearing our white pineapple-print shirt with white jeans and sandals – and she looked amazing. People wear our pyjamas in totally different ways.
