DO re­mem­ber to keep your knees bent; it helps to keep you steady. DON’T be em­bar­rassed to take it very slowly. DO try to re­lax. Do what­ever it takes to make you feel comfortable — whether that’s hold­ing on to the rail or some­one else. DON’T give up too soon. Af­ter a while you will start to feel the ‘glide’ in the blade, and that will give you con­fi­dence.
