Canada’s story

The Sunday Telegraph - Travel - - Canada -

Canada is celebrating its 150th birthday this year, but the story goes back much further. Reflecting the Franco-British rivalry in the New World is the fortress of Louisbourg, a “keep out” warning by the French on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island. Of course, the original “Canadians” are the First Nations, or aboriginals. Their heritage – especially their art – is shown in museums and galleries across the country.
