Ryanair ex­ec­u­tive quits over can­celled flights

One of Ryanair’s se­nior ex­ec­u­tives is to leave the troubled air­line amid fall­out over the can­cel­la­tion of thou­sands of its flights.

Michael Hickey, chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer, is thought to have been blamed by its boss Michael O’Leary for the chaos that has en­gulfed the low-cost air­line. His res­ig­na­tion comes af­ter the can­cel­la­tion of tens of thou­sands of flights through to March be­cause of er­rors in how pilots are ros­tered. Mr Hickey was re­spon­si­ble for sched­ul­ing shifts for pilots.
