Com­muter ‘pushed’ un­der Tube train

A com­muter sur­vived be­ing run over by a Tube train after he was al­legedly pushed off the plat­form.

Alan Alen­car, 29, is ac­cused of push­ing Alain Lesjon­gard onto the track just mo­ments be­fore a train pulled in to Bayswa­ter Un­der­ground sta­tion in west Lon­don on Thurs­day.

The driver was un­able to stop in time, but Mr Lesjon­gard was able to crawl free from un­der the train. He suf­fered “se­ri­ous but not life threat­en­ing” in­juries.

Mr Alen­car, of North­cote Street, Ed­in­burgh, de­nied at­tempted mur­der when he ap­peared at West­min­ster mag­is­trates’ court yes­ter­day.

Ju­liana Ng, pros­e­cut­ing, said Mr Alen­car was on day re­lease from a men­tal in­sti­tu­tion in Scot­land when the al­leged at­tack hap­pened.
