Commuter ‘pushed’ under Tube train
A commuter survived being run over by a Tube train after he was allegedly pushed off the platform.
Alan Alencar, 29, is accused of pushing Alain Lesjongard onto the track just moments before a train pulled in to Bayswater Underground station in west London on Thursday.
The driver was unable to stop in time, but Mr Lesjongard was able to crawl free from under the train. He suffered “serious but not life threatening” injuries.
Mr Alencar, of Northcote Street, Edinburgh, denied attempted murder when he appeared at Westminster magistrates’ court yesterday.
Juliana Ng, prosecuting, said Mr Alencar was on day release from a mental institution in Scotland when the alleged attack happened.
