Chemist accused of poisoning police sacked
A chemist at the centre of an incident in which seven police officers were rushed to hospital with chemical poisoning, had been dismissed from Oxford University for misconduct.
Hamed Ahmadi Nejad, a 34-year-old company director, was arrested on Thursday after police officers raided his home at 5.30am.
Nejad has been charged with administering a poison with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and one count of intimidation of a witness.
Oxford magistrates’ court has remanded him in custody and he is due to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Dec 8.
