SIR – You re­port (Fe­bru­ary 1) that chil­dren are at risk of be­com­ing rude as they’re used to talk­ing to dig­i­tal as­sis­tants such as Alexa and Siri.

We bought our 14-year-old son an “Alexa as­sis­tant” for his birth­day and have no­ticed that he says “please” af­ter ev­ery re­quest – some­thing of­ten lack­ing when he speaks to us. San­dra Mor­ris
