Earth on show for one night at his­tory mu­seum

A gi­ant glow­ing Earth will be in­stalled next to the skele­ton of the blue whale at the Nat­u­ral His­tory Mu­seum.

Luke Jer­ram’s 23ft di­am­e­ter orb will go on dis­play in the mu­seum’s Hintze Hall later this month.

Jer­ram, a Bris­tol-based artist, is best known for his gi­ant Moon art­work, which went miss­ing in the post, and cre­ated the il­lu­mi­nated sur­face of Earth us­ing Nasa im­ages.

Earth will go on show for one evening on Nov 30 be­fore go­ing on tour around the world. The free event, for adults to ex­plore the mu­seum af­ter hours, starts at 6pm.
