THE (Times Higher Education) - - NEWS -

Business leaders have urged the Zimbabwean government to reduce the number of state-run universities in the country. At the Standards Association of Zimbabwe Business Leaders Conference, Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce chief executive Chris Mugaga said that some universities were adding no value to the economy. “There are too many state universities in the country,” he added. “Let’s reduce them and also change the curriculum, because a majority of them concentrate on social sciences when the country requires engineers,” he said, according to African news site Inside Education.
