HONG KONG DESIGN INSTITUTE
As a leading design institution, Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) provides quality education to cultivate knowledge, professionalism and new talents who underpin the creative industries in Hong Kong. HKDI adopts a “think-and-do” approach through contemporary curriculum and active collaborations with industry. With many years of experience in design education, HKDI brings together the strengths of four academic departments, namely Architecture, Interior and Product Design, Communication Design and Digital Media, Design Foundation Studies and Fashion and Image Design, to offer over 20 programmes that cover a wide spectrum of the design discipline. Students are offered a three-year university degree pathway to progress from Higher Diploma to Bachelor’s Degree, conferred by reputable universities in the UK.
To promote cultural and knowledge exchange, HKDI has established collaborative agreements with over 40 design schools worldwide, which include China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing Film Academy and Tsinghua University in China; Bunka Gakuen University in Japan; ECAL, HEAD-Genève and Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland; Domus Academy, Politecnico di Milano and Istituto Marangoni in Italy; The New School (Parsons) in the US; University of Westminster and University for the Creative Arts in the UK, to name a few.
