Giant duck is sailing to Toronto
Imagine taking a peaceful evening stroll along the harbour, only to be faced with a giant inflatable rubber duck that’s taller than three double-decker buses. This 15 metre-tall yellow duck has travelled the world and is set to sail in to Toronto, Canada on 1 July, as part of the celebrations to mark the country’s 150th birthday. (Canada gained independence from British rule in 1867.)
Not everyone is happy about the floating duck’s imminent arrival; the local government has paid about £70,000 for it, which some say is far too much.
