Deadly dis­ease spreads

On 9 Septem­ber, the World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion (WHO) – the United Na­tions agency con­cerned with in­ter­na­tional pub­lic health – said that an out­break of cholera has be­come a ma­jor problem within the Demo­cratic Repub­lic of Congo (DRC). Cholera is an in­fec­tion that you can catch from eat­ing or drink­ing dirty food or wa­ter. The dis­ease can kill peo­ple if they don’t get med­i­cal treat­ment in time. The WHO say that cholera has led to the deaths of 528 peo­ple in DRC.
