“This kind of history is important”

“I like to write because people think some subjects aren’t as interesting as they are. There’s a lot of talk about nuclear bombs today, but there was the Cuban missile crisis in the Cold War. The US dropped grenades on a Soviet submarine, not knowing there were nuclear torpedoes. This kind of history is important because most people don’t know how close they were to the world ending. No one is all good but no one is all bad, either.”
