Uber banned from London

The Week - Junior - - Home News -

On 22 September, the taxi service Uber was told that its licence to operate in London would not be renewed. Uber allows customers to order the nearest taxi by using an app, and it’s used by 3.5 million people in the capital. Transport for London (TfL) claims Uber is not responsible enough when it comes to checking drivers or reporting serious criminal offences. Uber will appeal TfL’s decision, but 40,000 Uber drivers are concerned that they might lose their jobs.
