School class sizes grow

An investigation has revealed that many children across England are being taught in classes that contain more than 100 pupils. The information was collected on the same day in January across the country. One of the biggest classes was in a secondary school in south-west London. It had 181 pupils. It’s thought that Government funding cuts are to blame. Less money to pay teachers could mean there are fewer of them to oversee more, smaller classes.
