Penny Farthings to take on Tour de France course

The Week - Junior - - That’s Unbelievable! -

Penny farthings might have been out of fashion since the 1880s, but a group of enthusiasts are proving how much fun and how versatile the bikes can still be. Penny Farthing Dan (real name Dan Bolwell) and three friends are attempting to cycle the 2018 Tour de France course before the pro-riders attempt it. Bolwell, who builds penny farthings from scratch, describes the 2,069-mile journey as “a proper adventure”. But is this challenge real or are we taking you for a ride?*
