Surviving a python

Bear Grylls may be interested in a Nigerian trick I learnt from the chief hunter of a small village: if attacked by a large python, you should let him swallow one of your legs as far as your upper thigh, and then do a sharp and deep kneebend. This ploy, the hunter explained solemnly, would break the python’s spine. Robert Forrest-webb, St Weonards, Herefordshire
