Court hears murder charge discontinued
A murder charge against a Poplar woman has been dropped after tests indicated the victim had most likely killed himself.
Christie Madeley, 24, of Hertsmere Road appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Friday but the case was dropped and an inquest will open on Daniel Mantina, 26, who died in November last year.
A post-mortem examination held on November 17 last year at Westminster Mortuary gave cause of death as incised wounds to the neck.
Further tests established that the fatal injury was likely to be selfinflicted. The charge of murder has been discontinued.
