Having a laugh

Digital minister Matt Hancock knows how to warm a room, doesn’t he? In his speech to the Broadband World Forum at the Excel he had this one ready to go:

“Reminds me of the story of an American scientist, a French scientist and a British scientist arguing over who invented mobile technology.

“The American insisted on digging for evidence, and found an ancient piece of copper. ‘There’, he said, ‘this proves we created a copper network first’.

“The French scientist dug and found a piece of glass. ‘Zis proves we invented the fibre optic network first’.

“The British scientist dug and found nothing. ‘Evidence’, she exclaimed, ‘that we invented wifi’.”

Queen of the East End Dame Barbara Windsor had a bit of a giggle unveiling this artwork in London. It’s called When Did You Last See Your Feet and is a tribute to the Carry On cast and references the more famous When Did You Last See Your Father? but we think this has the makings of a classic too.
