Charges over DLR ob­struc­tion

A man has pleaded guilty to ob­struct­ing the DLR af­ter he brought the line to a stand­still be­tween Ca­nary Wharf and Heron Quay last Fri­day.

Leon Keens-Dou­glas was tack­led to the ground by eight of­fi­cers af­ter he re­fused to move from the bridge for over an hour, caus­ing de­lays for thou­sands of com­muters trav­el­ling home. The 47-year-old of Black­heath Road, Green­wich, was charged with ob­struct­ing an en­gine us­ing the rail­way by an un­law­ful act, wil­ful omis­sion or ne­glect. He ad­mit­ted the of­fence at High­bury Cor­ner Mag­is­trates’ Court on Satur­day and was re­manded in cus­tody for sen­tenc­ing to­day (Thurs­day).
