Charges over DLR obstruction
A man has pleaded guilty to obstructing the DLR after he brought the line to a standstill between Canary Wharf and Heron Quay last Friday.
Leon Keens-Douglas was tackled to the ground by eight officers after he refused to move from the bridge for over an hour, causing delays for thousands of commuters travelling home. The 47-year-old of Blackheath Road, Greenwich, was charged with obstructing an engine using the railway by an unlawful act, wilful omission or neglect. He admitted the offence at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody for sentencing today (Thursday).
