the last-minute PARTY
Whigfield on but no plans in the pipeline? Laura Enfield rounds up ongoing offers
On the seventh day of Christmas they all ate too much at the office party. At least that’s what we are wishing for everyone this festive season. If no-one has come up trumps yet with the planning here are six Canary Wharf venues offering feasting menus that will help fill your stockings.
From Italian, to British and Mexican to Japanese, there is something for every girl and boy, naughty and nice. Eat til your waistband runneth over.
Tacos not turkey rule at this Mexican market style Rebellion Banquet (£30pp). Swap sprouts for salsa and stuffing for slow cooked meats flavoured with exotic spices. Then toast the season with pitchers of icy Margaritas. Park Pavilion, until Dec 24
The Naked Chef has whipped up an indulgent Ultimate Feast Menu (£39.95) that makes those extra pounds worth it. Expect truffle butter steak, veal with saffron risotto and pumpkin arancini. You can even shake your belly with a posh bowl of jelly- the wobbly grappa panna cotta. Churchill Place, until Dec 30
Aiming to make every festive wish come true, Drake And Morgan has designed no less than eight Christmas menus. The Mistletoe (£45pp) is four courses of classic flavours such as scallops with cauliflower puree, turkey, rib-eye and salted caramel tart. No booze is included but the cocktail menu features the pun-tastic Eat, Drink And Be Cherry. No cracker jokes necessary, then. The Park Pavilion, until Jan 1
Mix things up with this four-course Christmas Set Menu (£45pp). Pork in a mandarin sauce sits alongside minced chicken in a pastry cup and diced fillet steak in red wine alongside Ko Po chicken. Wrap up your own festive treat-crispy duck in pancakes. Much better than pair of socks. Westferry Circus, until Dec 31
Sticks ‘n’ Sushi
Although headlined Sticks ‘n’ Santa, the big man will not be there. Sorry. Console yours(elves) with the San-Ban menu (£55pp) featuring tempura shrimp, scallops with tiger’s milk and miso marinated black cod. Finish with yuzu cheesecake or Marcel chocolate cake. Crossrail Place, until Dec 25
Get value with the three course Festa Di Natale menu (£25.95pp) that comes with a cracker and Prosecco. Flavours include pear and Gorgonzola salad, lobster and crab lasagna and roasted butternut squash with goat’s cheese Reuters Plaza, until Jan 3
