Town to honour Armed Forces

A PERFORMANCE by the Saint Sebastian Wokingham Brass Band will help the town mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday.

The group, who usually lead civic parades in the town, will be playing a medley of music outside the Town Hall in Market Place from 11am to 1pm.

And as the town hall clock hits noon, Wokingham Town Mayor, Cllr Peter Lucey, will appear on the balcony to make a speech.

The town council is now inviting all residents to join in the event.

Cllr Lucey said: “It is an honour to speak on Armed Forces Day, recognising all those who have served or are currently serving and protecting our country.”
