Ryeish Green to host new five-a-side league

WOKINGHAM is set to play host to a new five a side league at Ryeish Green.

Following the recent opening of the brandnew 3G pitch at the side, Berks and Bucks FA (BBFA) are launching leagues for men, women and over 35s.

“Small-sided football has long been viewed as the fastest growing and most popular area of adult football,” said BBFA innovation manager Jon Wood.

“We are keen to ensure that players and teams participating in this format of football have access to a high quality service.

“We would also like to see closer links between small-sided leagues and local 11-a-side leagues to support the retention of players and make it easier for them to transition between the formats.”

The Ryeish Green leagues will take place on Monday evenings with kick-off times between 7-8.30pm.
