County show pre­pares to re­turn

A WEEK­END ded­i­cated to the best of coun­try liv­ing will take place in New­bury next week.

The Royal County of Berk­shire Show, fea­tur­ing all the best from the world of farm­ing, craft, shop­ping and food, will de­scend on New­bury Show­ground on Septem­ber 16 and 17.

The cat­tle show will fea­ture a huge ar­ray of breeds across both days, while the sheep show will give an en­ter­tain­ing and ed­u­ca­tional in­sight into the world of sheep-rear­ing.

Horses, lla­mas, pigs and hounds will also fea­ture heav­ily through­out the week­end, along with a Grand Pa­rade of Live­stock on both days.

Food­ies will be kept well sus­tained with a huge va­ri­ety of stalls in the food mar­quee, while shop­pers can browse to their heart’s de­light at 500 stands sell­ing craft, cloth­ing and ac­ces­sories.

The Old Fash­ioned

Fun­fair will keep young and old en­ter­tained, while the Sports Zone will of­fer live­lier ac­tiv­i­ties.

Each day will close with a spec­tac­u­lar dis­play of hot air bal­loons, tak­ing to the skies above the show­ground, weather per­mit­ting.

Tick­ets are £17 in ad­vance, £20 on the gate; £14 for con­ces­sions (£17 on the gate); £5 for chil­dren (£7 on the gate).

Chil­dren un­der five go free when ac­com­pa­nied by a full­pay­ing adult.
