The Lively Liv­ing Club run by Age UK Read­ing of­fer clients an op­por­tu­nity to meet up with friends as well as have a nour­ish­ing meal.

Their Wood­ley Club is run at Alexan­dra Place in Wood­ley ev­ery Fri­day.

The vol­un­teer role will in­clude set­ting up, wel­com­ing clients as they ar­rive, pre­par­ing and serv­ing hot and cold drinks, serv­ing meals and en­sur­ing the venue is clean and tidy when the group is fin­ished.

Vol­un­teers must be friendly and car­ing, have a flex­i­ble attitude and be­ing with older peo­ple. Com­mit­ment is needed from 10am-2pm on Fri­days.

Do you have an hour or so to spare each week? Maybe you are re­cently re­tired? Per­haps your chil­dren are at school?

Maybe you are not in em­ploy­ment and would like to keep busy while you are look­ing for your next job? Maybe you work shifts and would like a vol­un­tary role which can fit around them?

If the an­swer to any of th­ese ques­tions is yes, then the Wokingham Trans­port Scheme needs you! All you need is your own car – ex­penses are re­im­bursed.

The Scheme pro­vides low cost trans­port for the el­derly to hos­pi­tal, lo­cal doc­tors, den­tists, op­ti­cians, and phys­io­ther­apy – and also oc­ca­sional so­cial trips or shop­ping. It pro­vides an es­sen­tial ser­vice to clients who live in Wokingham, Barkham, Finchampstead and Win­nersh.

Shin­field Rangers FC are a youth foot­ball club that fo­cuses on child de­vel­op­ment rather than foot­ball it­self. They are one of the few top-tier kite marked FA Char­ter Stan­dard Com­mu­nity Clubs in Berk­shire.

In 2018/19 they plan to start foot­ball ses­sions for the dis­abled and in 2017/18 Walk­ing Foot­ball for the over-50’s, and ex­pand be­yond their new sin­gle adult team. The lo­cal pop­u­la­tion is set to dou­ble in the next few years so they are grow­ing rapidly and ur­gently need more vol­un­teers to help.

They are par­tic­u­larly in need of a Club Sec­re­tary, Club Trea­surer and a Coach/Team Man­ager. No prior foot­ball knowl­edge is needed – ap­pro­pri­ate train­ing, sup­port and men­tor­ing to help will be pro­vided.
